PARTIAL RENOVATION

A strategic renovation project with the goal of providing much needed storage while simultaneously injecting some warmth and character into what was a very plain three-bedroom loft conversion. A walk-in closet and built-in window drawer unit/radiator cover simultaneously created more storage and better proportions in the master bedroom. Built-in cabinetry was also added below windows in the living room, as well as a large bookshelf with rolling ladder. Baseboard and door casing trim was replaced, and a few other small modifications were made to the existing layout to create a more harmonious flow in the apartment.

APARTMENT RENOVATION & CONVERSION

A full gut renovation, converting a two-bedroom apartment to three bedrooms while creating separate living and dining areas. We updated a bland 80’s co-op conversion with trim and moldings to create an authentic pre-war feeling throughout the apartment. The living room, dining room and kitchen were all re-located to achieve better feeling and flow throughout. Opening a newly exposed brick wall between the living and dining rooms (formerly separate bedrooms) achieved a lighter and more spacious feeling in the primary living areas.

LOFT APARTMENT RENOVATION
Completed 2012
An extensive renovation combining two separate one-bedroom apartments into one three-bedroom apartment. An industrial loft aesthetic was emphasized by retaining the original hardwood floors, exposing the ceiling and installing floor-to-ceiling custom book shelves. The enlarged kitchen, now open to the living area, was given a custom feel at a low cost using hand-made cabinet fronts with Ikea components.
